I discovered my love for clay during my graduate studies at MIT, where I divided my time between the lab and the pottery studio. I'm always experimenting, going between wheelthrowing, handbuilding, and combining woodworking with ceramics. Sometimes I use bright colors and jolly surface decoration, sometimes I keep it simple with muted palettes. My focus is on creating functional ware for the home. I delight in making, using, and sharing objects that bring joy to everyday life. In rebellion against my engineering education, I am rarely interested in machine-like perfection- I prefer pieces to maintain handmade character.
