I make ceramic pots and work with wood in the Boston area. I discovered my love for clay during my Ph.D studies at MIT, where I divided my time between the lab and the pottery studio. I'm always experimenting- going between wheelthrowing, handbuilding, and combining wood and metal with ceramics. Sometimes I like bright colors and jolly surface decoration, sometimes I prefer muted palettes and subtle variation. In rebellion against my engineering education, I am rarely interested in perfection- I like pieces to maintain handmade character.
